The black day, the black dot, the black sunflower and the armed cowboy besiege a lovebird that has lost so many of its features to match the exotic structure of the painting. The artwork was crammed with codes, symbols and signs from the ornate white grapevine, as well as the sewer nozzle, and the rewriting of popular chants wondering who’s the thief, while the cowboy's pistol represents the central active part of the painting. Shubbar insists on reminding us that this has happened and is happening in Baghdad. Shubbar’s painting claims by drawing Abu Abdullah while trying to restore the pun and its coded capacity to announce what’s not possible to draw or present.
