Painting Description: No 33

An eccentric formation of successive additions in terms of human-related time, place, and function is observed in this painting. The two leading figures Abla and Antarah submit to an adaptation of contemporary tourism trends where «refreshments» are added, and their colors contrast with its structure and unwieldly selection. Then, a theatrical spectacle opens in front of them as the extended image is connected to the deep frontier through the «Téléphérique» transcending the terrains and barriers. Meanwhile, the visible tents spare a deep space in history and memory and were used as touristic sites before they were undermined by contemporary transformations that Shubbar conveys in his Shubbarialistic approach.
Therefore, the «dead tree», which was cut for construction purposes, was presented in the middle of the painting. And to keep connection with the «Dada» horse, the artist balanced the horse’s setting with that of the leading figures structurally, objectively and conceptually as the concern rises from implicitness to «phenomenology». Notably, Shubbar sympathized with the «Dada» and was inspired by «Tzara»’s poem: «Today Dada grew old- Today Dada began to turn cold».
